Tribunal Clerks
£27,803 to £42,403 pa
Newport, St Asaph or home-based throughout Wales
The Valuation Tribunal for Wales is seeking to appoint a number of Tribunal Clerks. Tribunal Clerks play an essential role in supporting Tribunal members and ensuring hearings run smoothly. Key parts of the role involve providing clear, accurate guidance during hearings on local taxation law in Wales (Council Tax and Business Rates) and preparing well-structured written decisions.
We welcome applications from individuals with a strong academic background. We would particularly welcome people with experience and/or qualifications in local revenues, as well as those with knowledge of valuation for rating. Successful candidates will be appointed to a point on the salary scale appropriate to their qualifications and current knowledge. The Tribunal supports continuous professional development and training.
If you live in or near Newport or St Asaph, your workplace will be at your local office. If you live elsewhere, you will be home-based. A full driving licence is essential for this role as regular travel will be required throughout Wales, for which travel expenses would be paid in addition to an essential car user allowance.
